DataDerm 2.0 - A New Era for Leveraging Technology to Add Value to Patients and Practices

Description

The session titled "DataDerm 2.0" hosted by Bob Swarlick, Chair of the DataDerm Oversight Committee, reflects on the journey of the DataDerm registry over the past decade. Launched in 2016, DataDerm has evolved to become the largest dermatology-specific data registry, collecting extensive patient data to meet reporting requirements and define healthcare value. The initial concept was born from strategic retreats in 2014, highlighting the need for improved information access within dermatology. Over time, the registry faced challenges, such as adapting to the requirements of MIPS and maintaining data fidelity, yet it has successfully grown, amassing over 16 million unique patients and nearly 70 million visits by 2024. The registry's initiatives not only provide MOC credit opportunities for participants but have also linked participation to improved MIPS reporting scores. To enhance its capabilities, DataDerm has undergone an assessment revealing a need for a new data collection platform, leading to a partnership with PA Consulting. The new technology, launched in 2024, aims to facilitate the registry's growth for the next decade. The session concluded with insights from various experts and plans for future developments in dermatological data collection and analysis.
