In a presentation regarding cosmetic devices, two innovative tools were discussed: Tixel and Sonique. Tixel is a thermal mechanical fractional device designed for skin resurfacing, effective across all skin types with minimal downtime and no need for eye protection. It provides significant improvements for issues like acne scars and fine lines, utilizing a unique method of thermal injury that promotes skin tightening without severely damaging the epidermis. The technique generates micro-injuries and stimulates collagen production, making it ideal for delicate areas like around the eyes and perioral region. On the other hand, Sonique employs ultrasound technology for fat reduction by creating cavitation bubbles that destroy fat cells, which can be used on various body parts without causing pain. Unlike other fat removal methods, it allows for some skin tightening and is particularly effective in reducing waistlines and improving the appearance of cellulite.
